2020–21 Topps Merlin UEFA Champions League revives the classic Merlin brand with a modern chromium design, blending nostalgia with contemporary card technology. The 100-card base set spans players from both the UEFA Champions League and Europa League. Designs are inspired by the original 1996 Merlin Premier League stickers, now reimagined with a full Refractor rainbow, including parallels such as Purple (/299), Atomic (/250), Aqua (/199), Speckle (/150), Green (/99), Blue (/75), Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Red (/10), and Superfractors (1/1). Several variations are hobby-exclusive, while retail blasters contain Aqua Prism Refractors. Select rookies also feature short-print image variations with their own limited parallels.

Autograph content is headlined by Chrome Autographs, available with multiple Refractor parallels, from Speckle (/150) down to Superfractors (1/1). Three insert sets complement the base checklist: U23 Stars (young standouts), Wizards of the Pitch (veteran leaders), and Ageless Alchemy (a mix of past and present icons). Each insert set comes with four levels of parallels — Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Red (/10), and Superfractors (1/1) — with autographed versions also available for select cards. Hobby boxes guarantee one autograph plus a variety of inserts and Refractors.
