2016–17 Panini Black Gold Soccer introduced Panini’s high-end Black Gold line to the football market, combining bold design with a focus on autographs and premium-style inserts. The 162-card base set spans international stars, clubs from around the world, and national teams. With just three base cards per box, completing a full set is challenging. Parallels appear every other pack, adding rarity and variation.

Each box includes two packs, with one autograph and one medallion insert per pack. Autograph content features some of the game’s biggest names, including Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Neymar Jr., across sets like Regular Autographs, Gilded Signatures, and Vintage Gold (retired stars). Memorabilia content is minimal but includes Memorabilia Autographs. Medallion inserts are a key part of the release, incorporating embedded metal pieces into Stars and Man of the Match designs, with multiple parallel tiers.
